
The Movement Sector Intensive program works with key groups to develop and implement movement-building strategies for their justice sector.
Today, within the larger progressive movement are key "justice sectors" (e.g., reproductive justice, environmental justice), whose issue-specific work is grounded in a racial justice analysis. The vision and leadership of these justice sectors are key to strengthening the entire social justice movement, and transforming society at large.
We believe that movement building is far beyond the capacity of any single organization. By working at the sector scale, rather than with single organizations or alliances, we are developing movement strategies that effect change in broader systems, beliefs and policies.

MSC brings together activists from anchor organizations to build a sector leadership team and increase the overall clarity, alignment and impact of each sector. Specifically, we help this team develop a process for building power and influence, changing public perception, making lasting policy change and shifting movement culture. We prioritize working with the sectors of Reproductive Justice, Educational Justice, Media Justice and Environmental Justice.

MSC supports anchor organizations to deepen strategic thinking in their plans for building power and coordinating key efforts.
Program & Process Design, Documentation and Tool Development
We offer facilitation and planning to build sector infrastructure, movement capacity, and sector teams. MSC also helps capture the best thinking and practices through documentation and tool development.
Field Building, Research and Strategic Communications Support
MSC supports groups to develop and share resources, map fundraising processes, and plan research projects to build their sector. We also help groups to shape public perception about their sector through framing and messaging.
Capacity Building for Anchor Organizations
Through our organizational development tools & frameworks, we help anchor organizations to maximize their capacity.
